Cameraless images of seven pine trees on a swamp close to my home in Angered, Sweden. The trees were photographed with analogue color paper during a few nights in February 2020. Mare pines can be very old but still rarely extend to over two metres due to the harsh conditions where they grow. In the past they were believed to be ridden by ghosts called mares – in Swedish those trees are called martallar, in German Alptraumkiefern.
